A child of the 60s, I've been playing at guitar for 30 years so I should be better. I picked up guitar because I'm primarily a singer and needed to accompany myself. I live in the southeast corner of Texas, 90 miles east of Houston. I grew up on the music of the 50s, 60s and 70s and play mostly from that era. From the influence of my own children I also enjoy U2, Oasis, RHCP, Jack Johnson, REM, Coldplay, Greenday, Flaming Lips and much more.
In the 80s I played a lot in church; in the 90s I performed in several restaurants as a solo act; since 2006 I've been fronting a band that plays a lot of "classic hits/oldies". I'm trying to learn to play some lead but don't practice enough to learn scales, etc. "Sigh".
I recently purchased a Peavey electric, but mostly play either my 1986 Ovation Balladeer AE or a Martin AE.
