I haven't watched all of this yet, but there are a lot of great archive stills in this documentary and the playing is very good indeed.

Pirre thanks, I'll put it on the list.

Tom, you're right, there are some good singers in Mama Mia to be sure. I was surprised by Merelle's voice actually.

So many things to learn, so many songs in my 'must learn queue' - if only I didn't have to sleep...wow...that would be great!

There's "Looking for Sandman" - a sorta documentary put together about a couple folks looking for Sixto Rodriguez (Or better known as simply Rodriguez). Goes into some depth about his original run at the record industry and his failure then, here anyways.

There's a lesson on this tune under Ryan Bingham, here at TG.

I just finished watching the documentary Alive Inside: A Story of Music and Memory. This had been sitting in my Netflix streaming queue for a quite while. I slected it because it dealt with music and it had a five out of five star rating. I wasn't sure I would like it. The description hit home with some personal issues, and I thought it might be too depressing. Today, I screwed up my courage and hit the play button. Good decision. Informative and heartwarming.

Another documentary similar to it is Young@Heart. I'm thinking that if someone likes one of these, they will probably like the other one, too.

Just watched an interesting documentary called "Musicwood".
It is about a coalition made up of Bob Taylor, Chris Martin, Dave Berryman (Gibson), and GreenPeace. They attempt to convince SEAlaska, a logging company to employ more responsible and renewable practices. All of the sitka spruce used by these makers comes from this logging company, and at current rates of logging, there is a 5-10 year supply left.
Very well done. Really a microcosm of larger ecological challenges.
Interesting to think about the journey of the materials that make up the guitars we love so much.

To play a wrong note is insignificant;
To play without passion is inexcusable.
